KEY DATES:
1. During the first class period of this week, you will have a QUIZ on chapters 17 and 18 and the two Krugman articles.
2. During the first period of the week of Jan. 24, you will have a QUIZ on the two Wheelan readings and chapter 19 in Colnader. There will be an essay on Wheelan.
3. On Thursday, Jan. 24. we will go on our Econ. Field Trip. We will visit the CME floor at 9:00 am, hear the Fed. economist, Rick Matton at 10:30 am and go to Capsim at 12:00 for lunch and a presentation. We will take the 8:02 train to Van Buren from the 57th street station, arriving at 8:16 and then take the 3:12 train back from Van Buren, arriving at 3:26 at 57th street.
THE EXTRA HALF HOUR OF THE LONG PERIOD: We will watch David Leonhardt and Austin Goolsbee talk about the fiscal cliff.
CLASS ONE: QUIZ on chapters 17 and 18. HOMEWORK: please read chapter 5 in Wheelan on the Economics of Information.
CLASS TWO: we will discuss the reading. HOMEWORK: please read chapter 6 in Wheelan on Productivity and Human Capital.
CLASS THREE: we will discuss the reading. HOMEWORK: please chapter 19 in Colander on Work and the Labor Market.
CLASS FOUR: we will discuss chapter 19. HOMEWORK: prepare for a QUIZ on chapter 19 and the two Wheelan readings. You will have an essay from the Wheelan material.
