EYE-OPENER OF THE WEEK: What's gone and what's past help should be past grief. Shakespearre KEY DATES: 1. During the first class period of the week of Feb. 4 we will have a QUIZ on chapters 21 and 22 in Colander. 2. On Wednesday, March 6, Steve Kaplan will speak to us about income inequality and CEO pay. CLASS ONE: we will discuss the chapter, Market Failure versus Government Failure. HOMEWORK: please read chapter 22, Behavioral Economics and Modern Economic Policy. CLASS TWO: we will discuss the homework. HOMEWORK: prepare for quiz on Monday. CLASS THREE FOR PERIOD THREE ONLY: we will watch Clarissa Ward talk about Syria on Charlie Rose.

During the class period we will have a quiz on chapter 19 in Colander and chapters 5 and 6 in Wheelan. 2.  On Thursday, Jan. 24. we will go on our Econ. Field Trip. We will visit the CME floor at 9:00 am, hear the Fed. economist, Rick Matton at 10:30 am and go to Capsim at 12:00 for lunch and a presentation. We will  gather in the foyer of the High School at 7:30 SHARP,  take the 8:02 train to Van Buren from the 57th street station, arriving at 8:16 ,and then take the 3:12 train back from Van Buren, arriving at 3:26 at 57th street. THE LONG PERIOD: the 6th period class will use the extra half hour as a study period.
