WEEK'S SCHEDULE (26), APRIL 8, 2013

EYE-OPENER OF THE WEEK:  The world wants to be deceived, therefore let it be deceived. Hitler's favorite saying.

KEY DATE:

1. During the second class period of the week, we will have a quiz on chapter 12.

2. During the second class period of the week April 15, we will have a test on chapter 13 in Colander and chapter 12 in Wheelan.

THE LONG PERIOD: you will use it for group work for round 6.

CLASS ONE: we will have a debrief on round 5 and we will review the second half of chapter 12 for the quiz tomorrow. HOMEWORK: prepare for QUIZ on chapter 12.

CLASS TWO: QUIZ on chapter 12 and current events article, European Planted the Seeds of Crisis in Cyprus. HOMEWORK: please read chapter 13, The Financial Sector and the Economy up to "How Banks Create Money.

CLASS THREE: we will discuss the reading. HOMEWORK: finish the chapter on the Financial Sector.

CLASS FOUR: we will discuss the reading. HOMEWORK: read chapter 11 in Wheelan, International Economics.

EYE-OPENER OF THE WEEK: When you can recognize that someone is talking rot, you are an educated man. Lord Action KEY DATES: 1. On Monday, Feb. 25, we will debrief round 2. 2. On Thursday, Feb. 28, Glenn Weinstein will speak to us about the municipal bond market. 3. On Monday, March 4, we will have a quiz on the Wheelan chapter on special interests, Glenn Weinstein's talk and chapter 10 in Colander on The Aggregate Demand/Aggregate Supply Model. 4. On Wednesday, March 6, Steve Kaplan will talk to us about income inequality and CEO pay. The long period. The extra half hour in the long period will be devoted to group work for round 3 of the Capsim simulation. CLASS ONE: we will debrief round 2 and discuss chapter 7 in Wheelan on special interests.
