EYE-OPENER OF THE WEEK:  Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life. Sophia Loren

KEY DATE:

1.  During the first class period of next week of the week of April 29, we will have a QUIZ on the chapters on Monetary Policy and Financial Crises. Panics, and Macroeconomic Policy.

THE LONG PERIOD: you will use the extra half hour to complete round 8 of the Capsim simulation. This will be the last round.

CLASS ONE: we will discuss the chapter on Monetary Policy. HOMEWORK: read the first half of the chapter on the Financial Crises, Panics, and Macroeconomic Policy in Colander up to How Do Economies Get Out of a Financial Crisis?

CLASS TWO: we will discuss the reading. HOMEWORK: finish the chapter.

CLASS THREE: we will discuss the second half of the chapter. HOMEWORK: please read current event handouts for tomorrow: Lessons From the Comeback and The Price of Marriage in China.

CLASS FOUR: we will discuss the two articles. HOMEWORK: prepare for the QUIZ.

EYE-OPENER OF THE WEEK: When you can recognize that someone is talking rot, you are an educated man. Lord Action KEY DATES: 1. On Monday, Feb. 25, we will debrief round 2. 2. On Thursday, Feb. 28, Glenn Weinstein will speak to us about the municipal bond market. 3. On Monday, March 4, we will have a quiz on the Wheelan chapter on special interests, Glenn Weinstein's talk and chapter 10 in Colander on The Aggregate Demand/Aggregate Supply Model. 4. On Wednesday, March 6, Steve Kaplan will talk to us about income inequality and CEO pay. The long period. The extra half hour in the long period will be devoted to group work for round 3 of the Capsim simulation. CLASS ONE: we will debrief round 2 and discuss chapter 7 in Wheelan on special interests.
